"I was kind of conservative the first three games, but I realized that it's summer league. You want to expand your game and work on things and see how far you can take it," said Almond of his aggressive play.
Almond spent much of his rookie NBA season playing for the NBA Development League's Utah Flash where he proved to be a big scorer. But he saw limited action with the Jazz. Of course, Utah fails to match Oklahoma City's 4-year, $15 million offer to Miles, it could mean more playing time for Almond. The Jazz have until Friday to make a decision on whether to re-sign Miles or not.
"I'm happy for (Miles) as a teammate and a friend," said Almond. "But I don't have any control over (whether the Jazz match the offer). I don't think about it too much. ... The chips will fall where they may and I'll just have to make the best of it against whoever shows up at training camp."
The Jazz played Tuesday without summer point guard Kevin Kruger and without University of Utah product Britton Johnsen.
Kruger who played last season for the D-League's Utah Flash is done for the Revue because of a badly sprained left ankle sustained in Monday's victory over the Iranian Olympic Team. Johnsen missed his second straight game with a severe thigh contusion.
The former Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers forward, still looking for a contract for next season, was said to be improving and may play again before the Revue concludes Friday.
Today will be an off day for the Revue. Games resume Thursday and Friday.
