PROVO, Utah — The co-owner of the defunct Flix Club movie store has pleaded no contest to reduced criminal charges stemming from allegations that he and another man paid teenage girls for sex.

In a deal with proseuctors, Daniel Dean Thompson entered the plea on two counts of class A misdemeanor sexual battery Friday in American Fork's 4th District Court. Each count carries a possible penalty of one year in the Utah County Jail and fines.

Utah County prosecutors originally charged Thompson with third-degree felony unlawful sexual activity with a minor. A misdemeanor charge of patronizing a prostitute was also dropped.

Another Flix Club co-owner charged in the same crime, Isaac Lifferth, 24, began serving a 210-day jail sentence earlier this month on two third-degree felonies of sexual activity with a minor and misdemeanors of patronizing a prostitute and possession of a controlled substance.
