Executive at UVRMC joins national group
PROVO — The chief executive officer of Utah Valley Regional Medical Center recently became a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation's leading professional society for health-care leaders.
Orem native Steve Smoot passed a comprehensive exam, met a variety of academic and experiential criteria and demonstrated professional and community involvement. Fellow status requires recertification every three years.
Smoot was named CEO/administrator at UVRMC in the spring of 2007. Prior to that position, he was CEO of Valley View Hospital in Cedar City. He has worked as a health-care executive for more than a decade in three different health systems across the country.
