AWARDS: For the third time in the six-year history of the award, Weber State has captured the Big Sky Conference Presidents' Cup. Weber State finished third in the athletic portion of the competition, averaging 9.64 points per sport. Weber State did not win a conference championship but was near the top of the standings in nearly every sport.

TRACK & FIELD: Coach Scott Houle released his 2008-09 signees Thursday, which include 30 athletes (12 men and 18 women). On the men's side, standout newcomers include Akwasi Frimpong, a sprinter from the Netherlands; Ben Felix, a distance runner from American Fork; Ty Bunting, state champion shot put thrower from Kanab High; and Levi Ball, state champion pole vaulter out of Viewmont High.
New standouts on the women's team include: Rosina Amenebede, a hurdler out of Ghana; Krystal Harper, a multiple high school state champion in cross country and track out of Orem High; Nicole Knighton, a Bountiful High shot put state champion; and Melissa Morris, one of the top pole vaulters from California.
Utah State
FOOTBALL: Utah State's football coaching staff will host a free football clinic for women to learn football skills, techniques and the ins-and-outs of football at Romney Stadium on Wednesday, July 30. Check-in and registration begins at 6 p.m. with the clinic starting at 6:30 p.m. The clinic is open to all women 18 years and older. Admission is free and there will be a drawing for prizes.
Participants should come dressed ready to be active and are encouraged to enter Romney Stadium from the southwest gate.
