WEST VALLEY CITY — At least two people were in custody as a SWAT team surrounded a home where a man was believed to be hiding following a credit union heist Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 3 p.m., two men with handguns walked into the Premier Services Credit Union, 2250 S. Redwood, and ordered everyone inside to lie on the floor, said West Valley City Police Sgt. Jeff Conger.

The men took cash from the credit union and left in a car.

A witness's description of the vehicle led police to a West Valley City home where three people were later taken into custody, Conger said.

SWAT officers surrounded the home, near 3600 South and 4800 West, but had not made entry as of press time Tuesday night.

No information about the suspects was immediately released.
