Oregon teen drowns in Bear Lake

GARDEN CITY, Rich County — An Oregon teen drowned while swimming with her family in Bear Lake on Tuesday afternoon.

Mallory Parsons, 14, of Tigard, Ore., was swimming at Ideal Beach and was near an inflatable raft when when she went under around 4:15 p.m., according to the Rich County Sheriff's Office.

The girl was found about 30 minutes later in 8 feet of water. Park rangers and nearby swimmers started CPR. Parsons was taken to Logan Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
