Lightning hits woman at Richfield course

RICHFIELD — An Annabella, Sevier County, woman was injured by a secondary lightning strike Sunday while at the Cove View Golf Course, police said.

Helen Thornock, 50, was injured at 2:08 p.m. after lightning hit a nearby tree and traveled to her.

Police report that Thornock was conscious and breathing when she was taken to Sevier Valley Hospital in Richfield.
