Utah Amber Alert no longer in effect for California boy
However, at 1:20 p.m., the Amber Alert was called off for Ryan Ramos, 9, when Orange County Police said they no longer suspected Ramos to be in Utah, according to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
Orange County police say Lonnie Ramos, 46, is suspected of shooting Gynnae Ramos, 41. She drove to Ramos' house to pick up their son with a friend and a 4-year-old girl.
Lonnie Ramos allegedly shot Gynnae Ramos with a .40-caliber handgun while she was inside the car. The friend drove the vehicle to a nearby shopping center and called 911, according to a report by the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The same report suggested Ramos may be driving a 2005 Fleetwood Providence motor home, a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban or a red Porsche convertible with a black top.
Police were informed of a vehicle matching Ramos' motor home in a Salt Lake park. However, Jim Amormino, spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff's Department, said, "The sighting in Salt Lake City was not the correct vehicle."
Amormino reported that Gynnae Ramos is still in critical condition.
While Lonnie Ramos has connections in Washington, D.C., and Texas, Amormino said, "He could really be anywhere."
