Phillies' bats blast Braves

WHITE SOX 6, INDIANS 5 (10 INNINGS): At Chicago, A.J. Pierzynski led off the bottom of 10th with his second homer of the game and Chicago won its seventh straight. Masa Kobayashi (4-4) pitched a perfect ninth then Pierzynski drove the first pitch of the 10th for his seventh homer. Grady Sizemore's second solo homer of the game tied it at 5 in the ninth.

TWINS 7, TIGERS 0: At Minneapolis, Nick Blackburn combined with two relievers on a five-hitter, and Joe Mauer's two-out, two-run single sparked a five-run third inning for Minnesota. The Twins have won 13 of 15 overall. Blackburn (7-4) allowed three hits in seven innings, struck out four and walked one.

ANGELS 7, ATHLETICS 4: At Anaheim, Calif., Joe Saunders pitched into the seventh inning to match Brandon Webb for the major league lead with his 12th win, and Juan Rivera and Eric Aybar homered for the Angels. Saunders (12-4) allowed four runs — two earned — and six hits in 6 1/3 innings to help Los Angeles open a 5 1/2-game lead over Oakland in the AL West. Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless ninth for his major league-leading 34th save.

ORIOLES 5, ROYALS 2: At Baltimore, Daniel Cabrera pitched a seven-hitter to earn his first victory since May 20, and Aubrey Huff homered for Baltimore. Cabrera (6-4) is 5-0 with a 2.21 ERA lifetime against Kansas City, and the Orioles are 8-0 in his eight career starts against the Royals.

MARINERS 4, BLUE JAYS 2: At Seattle, Miguel Cairo drove in three runs with two doubles for Seattle. Cairo, making just his second start at second base, drove in the game's first run with a two-out double in the third off Dustin McGowan (6-7). Raul Ibanez followed with a run-scoring single. The Blue Jays tied the game on Adam Lind's two-run homer in the fifth. Jarrod Washburn (4-7) allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings.
