This photo from 1973 shows the Daughters of Utah Pioneers museum located in Vernal, which opened to the public July 24, 1962. Labor and funding for the building came primarily from donations, in part from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The museum was established to preserve Uintah Basin's past. Today, the museum is open Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
