Two men initially suspected in two armed robberies are now facing some serious federal prison time after being indicted in 11 separate robberies across Salt Lake County.

A federal grand jury on Wednesday returned indictments against Lloyd Everett Pace, 45, and Laroy Gene Butterfield, 39, with 11 counts of armed robbery.

According to the indictment, the two men robbed a variety of businesses between May and June in Salt Lake County.

Butterfield was arrested last week in West Jordan after being wanted in connection with the robberies. Pace was arrested a few days earlier.

Both men face up to 20 years in prison for each count if convicted.

Initially police believed the two men were responsible for robbing two businesses, but further investigation found evidence which linked them about about nine other crimes.
