'American Idol' to hold auditions in Salt Lake on July 29
According to Fox, Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and the "Idol" team will be at the EnergySolutions Arena on Tuesday, July 29.
Specific details are still to come.
In addition to visiting the hometown of Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta, they're also headed for Kansas City, Mo., the hometown of Season 7 winner David Cook.
The scheduled for the Season 8 auditions is:
• July 17: San Francisco (Cow Palace)
• July 21: Louisville, Ky. (Freedom Hall)
• July 25: Phoenix (Jobing.com Arena)
• July 29: Salt Lake City (EnergySolutions Arena)
• Aug 2: San Juan, Puerto Rico (Coliseo de Puerto Rico)
• Aug. 8: Kansas City, Mo. (Sprint Center)
• Aug. 13: Jacksonville, Fla. (Veterans Memorial Arena)
• Aug. 19: East Rutherford, N.J. (IZOD Center at the Meadowlands Sports Complex)
Hopefuls must be between the ages of 16 and 28 as of July 15, 2008, and must be eligible to work in the United States. More details are available at americanidol.com.
