Traffic coordination at RSL games to be a joint effort
Up to 14 police officers will be paid by Real to direct traffic, and signals will be timed to allow pedestrians to walk safely across intersections in all directions, including diagonally.
Impact on traffic in the area is expected to be minimal, said Ryan Hales, who has coordinated the effort as an adviser for Real.
Similar plans have worked at soccer fields nationwide, he added.
The soccer franchise also plans to construct bridges and walkways to accommodate foot traffic from grassy fields nearby.
