Choral workshop open to singers
Open to everyone who enjoys singing, the summer program is divided up into four separate sessions, each focusing on a specific genre or composer. The sessions are mainly for high school and adult singers, while one session is designed for families with children.
The institute is an intensive, goal-oriented program. There will be one session each month. The first begins Thursday evening and culminates in a concert Saturday evening. The repertoire will be taken from Broadway shows.
The following two sessions (July 10-13, focusing on folk music, and Aug. 7-9, devoted to the requiems of Gabriel Faure and John Rutter) follow a similar pattern of an intensive rehearsal schedule culminating in a concert open to the public.
The fourth session begins June 10 and runs over four Tuesday evenings until Aug. 5 and will feature select choral works.
There will also be a choral conducting workshop on July 7-11 under Allred's direction that will concentrate on honing rehearsal and conducting techniques.

Below is a rundown of the four sessions. Unless otherwise noted, all sessions take place in Libby Gardner Concert Hall on the University of Utah campus.
