High school softball notes: All-star games held

The Utah Softball Coaches Association held its annual senior all-star game on Friday afternoon at the Valley Softball Complex. The 3A all-stars came-from-behind to defeat the 2A all-stars 5-4. The smaller schools led 4-0 until the sixth inning, but rallied to earn the win.

The 4A all-stars earned a 7-6 win over the 5A all-stars.

SOFTBALL SUMMER SEASON BEGINS: Just a day after the state's high school tournaments ended, many teams open summer play at the Ice Breaker in Roy. The Sting, a 16-under team finished 5-1 in that tournament and won the championship 10-9 against the Twisters. The Sting had to score seven runs to earn the come-from-behind victory.
