LOGAN — A teacher at a Nibley elementary school who has been arrested for investigation of sexually abusing a child is free on bail.

Scott Rogers, 34, of North Logan, was released from the Cache County Jail after posting a $40,000 bond. Rogers, a second-grade teacher at Thomas Edison Charter School, was arrested last week on two counts of suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony.

Detectives are still investigating, said Cache County Sheriff's Lt. Matt Bilodeau. Bilodeau declined to say whether the alleged victim was a student at the school in the small Cache Valley town.

Although Rogers had already resigned as of the end of the school year, he was suspended for the remaining week, according to Principal Eldon Budge.
