SACRAMENTO — Brad Coon delivered a two-run single in the eighth inning that snapped a tie and sent the Salt Lake Bees to a 5-3 win over the Sacramento River Cats on Thursday night.

Veteran relief pitcher Kiko Calero, who is on an injury rehab assignment from Oakland, walked Bobby Wilson and Adam Pavkovich to start the eighth. After Gary Patchett bunted the runners over to second and third, Calero walked Coby Smith to load the bases and Coon lined a single to center to score Wilson and Pavkovich.

Kasey Olenberger (3-2) worked seven innings for the win and allowed just three runs on four hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

Jeff Kennard tossed a 1-2-3 eighth inning and Darren O'Day pitched a scoreless ninth for his first career Triple-A save.

Wilson had three hits with two doubles for the Bees, while Coon had three hits and two runs batted in.

Kendry Morales added two hits, including his sixth home run of the season, a solo shot in the sixth.

NOTES: The Bees placed right-handed pitcher Alex Serrano on the disabled list with a right ulnar collateral sprain. Serrano, 27, has appeared in 14 games for the Bees in 2008 and has a 2-0 record with a 6.50 ERA.
