The Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest plans to perform a prescribed burn today near Ray's Valley in Spanish Fork Canyon, if weather permits.

Officials expect the burn to treat 2,000 acres and affect mostly aspen, Gambel oak and spruce trees. Burning should improve the wildlife habitat and regenerate vegetation.

Public access routes won't be closed because snowpack inhibits access.
