Film festival holding a party

MIDVALE — The first Utah Hawaiian Film Festival is holding a kickoff party today.

The party starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Hawaiian Cultural Center, 741 W. Smelter St. (7650 South) in Midvale.

The film festival is Friday and Saturday. It offers a glimpse of Hawaiian perspectives through films focusing on Hawaiian myths and legends, as well as documentaries on Hawaiian history, modern issues and cultural traditions.
