ST. GEORGE — A man police say planned to rob a Washington Mutual Bank on Tuesday was arrested before he finished writing out his demands.

Jason Reed Provost-Mahan, 23, lingered outside the bank, dressed in a suit and sunglasses for sometime, prompting an employee to call police and report the suspicious activity, according to a statement from the St. George Police Department.

Officers arrived at the bank around 2:15 p.m. and found Provost-Mahan, as he was writing a note demanding money, police said.

Provost-Mahan was booked into the Washington County Jail on suspicion of attempted robbery.
