Free asthma screenings will help adults and children learn if breathing problems might be asthma, as well as learn to control breathing for those with the disease.

The 12th Nationwide Asthma Screening Program, sponsored by the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Fashion Place Mall in Murray.

Sponsored by AstraZeneca, it features board-certified allergists from Intermountain Allergy and Asthma.

This year a special effort is being made to reach people who know they have asthma but may be limiting their activities or missing days of school or work because the disease is not controlled.

The free screenings include a 20-question survey for adults and another designed to let children under 15 answer without help. For children up to 8, there's a version a parent can answer.

For information or times, call Kathy Green at Intermountain Allergy and Asthma, 801-363-4071, or go online at intermountainallergy.com.
