New coach a familiar face

HAWS INVITED: Lone Peak's Tyler Haws, the 2008 Deseret News Mr. Basketball, has been selected to participate in the NBA Players Association Top 100 player camp. The camp is in its 12th year, and is held June 18-21 at the University of Virginia. The camp is considered to be one of most prestigious in the nation.

LACROSSE SEMIFINALS SET: The Division A and Division B lacrosse championships are close to being determined. In Division A, top-seeded Bountiful, Bingham, Jordan and Alta advanced to the semifinals with victories on Saturday. Bountiful crushed Waterford 16-2, Bingham beat Park City 17-10, Jordan edged Judge Memorial 9-8 and Alta upset Bonneville 7-5.

Bountiful plays Bingham in the first semifinal on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Juan Diego. Jordan-Alta follows at 7 p.m.

In Division B, Skyline, Woods Cross and Sky View have advanced to the semifinals. Skyline defeated two higher-seeded teams to get there, and will face Woods Cross at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at Mountain View High. In the second semifinal, Sky View will play the Lone Peak-Highland winner at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Lone Peak plays Highland today at Mountain Ridge Junior High School at 5 p.m. to determine which team will face the Bobcats.

The two championship games are scheduled for Saturday at Park City High. The Division B title game is at 1 p.m. and the Division A title game is at 7 p.m.
