PROVO — A man who threatened a bomb would go off in an American Fork pharmacy unless he received the prescription drug he wanted is now in the Utah County Jail.

The man passed a note through the drive-through window saying that he had a gun and a bomb wired in the store that would blow up in 15 seconds if the technician called police or didn't give him the drugs, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in 4th District Court.

He got the drug patches and fled the scene, but was found and arrested on May 5.

During a search of the car, police found several forged prescription papers, as well as several wrappers from previously used drug patches.

While American Fork police officers interviewed the man they realized he was also a suspect in a previous fraud case, which the man allegedly admitted, according to the affidavit.

He was booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of robbery, possession of a forged writing, prescription fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.
