Immigration views insipid

For the past several years, the Deseret News has run a series of insipid editorials on illegal immigration. The May 6 missive marks a new low with the line: "violating immigration laws should not be considered a malicious crime any more than should violations of the posted speed limit."

If stealing a country is not a serious crime, then nothing is. We do believe in "obeying, honoring and sustaining the law." I say, "Let's show real compassion for the millions of innocent victims (hard-working, tax-paying, American citizens) of illegal immigration."
