Education is the last field to make use of modern technology. How much time is wasted calling the roll each day? Why not issue each student an ID that admits him to the classroom, issues the test, calls the roll and lets him know at the school or home how he is progressing? Bar codes are an excellent form of identification. Industry has used them for years. Using that five minutes or more would give time for education and not confusion.
