Utah Grizzlies looking to advance
Face-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. Utah currently leads the best-of-seven series 3-2 following Saturday night's 1-0 overtime win at the E-Center.
The winner of this best-of-seven will face the winner of the series featuring Victoria and Bakersfield.
The Grizzlies have been carried in the series by goaltender Nathan Lawson, who has started all five games. In the playoffs, Lawson is 3-0 with a 1.80 goals against average and a .940 save percentage. The 24-year-old recorded the third shutout of his rookie season Utah's Game 5 win, stopping all 34 shots he saw.
Utah is 5-1-0-1 this year at Save Mart Center after winning Games 1 and 2 of the series on April 13-14. The Grizzlies won Game 1 6-1 followed by the sixth-longest game in ECHL history that they won 4-3 in triple overtime.
The Grizzlies are attempting to win their first playoff series since the
1996-97 season when they swept the Kansas City Blades 3-0 in the IHL's opening round. Utah has not won a best-of-seven playoff series since its Turner Cup Championship clincher over Orlando in 1995-96.
