BASEBALL: Jacob Noyes recorded three consecutive strikeouts after loading the bases in the top of the ninth inning to preserve an 11-9 victory over South Dakota State University on Thursday afternoon. The win moves the Thunderbirds to 19-14 on the season and 6-2 in conference play. The Jackrabbits dropped to 13-17 overall and 5-1 in Summit League play.

Bucky Aona and Nick Freitas each smacked two-run homers and had three RBIs apiece for Southern Utah.

The two teams play a doubleheader today beginning at noon in Cedar City.

Weber State

TENNIS: Weber State's Fabio Mancarella has been named the Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from April 8- 15.

Mancarella, a native of Tuebingen, Germany, went 5-1 overall last week as the Wildcats picked up two Big Sky victories and a non-conference win over Utah State. Weber State is in a second-place tie in the standings with Eastern Washington.
