"It's scary," he said. "(Motorists) come flying around the corner."
Thompson said UDOT has uniform criteria that it has to follow. He said UDOT officials will review past studies of the area, if any exist, and they will conduct current studies including traffic volume, peak vehicle volume and crash history before settling on the best remedy.
"It won't necessarily mean we'll put in a traffic stop if there's a less expensive way to solve the problem," he said.
Hudnall said UDOT officials have been receptive to their input and concerns, but he's frustrated with the drawn-out process.
Like Everett, Hudnall said he thinks the answer is clear.
"You already know there's a school going in there, you know there are kids on the east side of Geneva Road that need to get across," he said. "What more do you need?"
