Lake Powell to give more water to Mead
The call for an increased release from Lake Powell comes from the 2007 Colorado River Interim Guidelines for Lower Basin Shortages and the Coordinated Operations of Lake Powell and Lake Mead. It's anticipated that the spring runoff into Lake Powell will be 122 percent of average, raising the lake level 50 feet by mid-July, the National Weather Service reported.
By this summer Lake Powell will be at its highest level in six years.
