The College Democrats of Utah will hold their first annual statewide convention on Saturday, at the University of Utah Olpin Student Union theater.

"In the past, the College Caucus has been a fairly informal group without much statewide activity," Aaron Curtis, caucus chairman, said. "This convention will allow Democrats at Utah colleges to begin building a strong network of intercollegiate support."

Participants will vote on a new constitution and elect the group's first executive board. House Minority Whip David Litvack, D-Salt Lake, will deliver the keynote speech, and a panel of community activists will talk about how college students can get involved in politics.

After the convention, the group is planning to organize a campaign to get out the student vote for the June primary and the November general election. For more information, Curtis can be contacted at aaron@youngdemsofutah.org.
