A change to this scenario might not come around until the current collective bargaining agreement expires on Jan. 31, 2010.
"Right now the players don't have much bargaining power, and that's just the way it is. Part of that is because the league needed to have that happen to succeed, but now that we're getting more and more owners and we're getting more and more money pumped into it, I think the players need to be rewarded for that," said Wingert.
