Las Vegas-based Wave Uranium said that it has acquired a 1,042-acre mineral lease in Grand County, just east of the Green River and north of Canyonlands National Park.

The area is adjacent to a block of 1,327 mining claims already held by the company on federal lands.

The claims comprise almost all of the Mineral Canyon mining district with the exception of the Labyrinth Canyon Area of Critical Environmental Concern to the west. The company said mineral entry and exploration is unrestricted in the claims areas surrounding the protected federal lands.
