Man hurt after falling off mule in Moab

MOAB — A man was injured after falling off a mule while on a trail ride.

Grand County sheriff's deputies said the accident happened Wednesday afternoon as the 66-year-old man from Lapine, Ore., was riding the mule on a trail ride near State Route 128. The man suffered broken ribs, a collapsed lung, bruises and scrapes, deputies said.

Search and rescue teams carried him to an ambulance where he was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
