DELTA — Millard County sheriff's deputies broke up a pair of brawls in this rural Utah community.

The first fight happened March 14, about 8 p.m., involving six people at the corner of 400 West and Main. Deputies said four people were at a food stand when a vehicle with two adults pulled up and the fight started.

During the fight, a woman was hit with a baseball bat. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries. One man was cited and a woman was booked into jail for investigation of assault.

About an hour later, the Millard County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched to another fight at 50 South and 150 East. About 20 people were involved. Deputies said some teenage boys were in a car when they began taunting a group of men walking down the street. When the car stopped, deputies said one of the men walking on the street ran to a nearby laundromat and enlisted help.

By the time police responded to the brawl, as many as 20 people were involved. Two teens were cited and released to their parents. Two adults were also cited. The rest fled, deputies said.
