DUTCH JOHN, Daggett County (AP) — Is there a permanent pack of wolves in Utah?

State wildlife experts are following up on a pilot's report that five wolves were seen near the Dutch John Airport near Flaming Gorge Reservoir.

The location is in northeastern Utah near the Wyoming border. Kevin Bunnell of the Division of Wildlife Resources says it seems to be a credible sighting. Experts haven't found any wolves, but they did find a set of tracks and received a response to a digital howl recording.

Deer and elk carcasses have been placed as bait to see if the wolves will appear.
