Flash snap 5-game skid
Utah improved to 19-22 with its sixth consecutive victory over the Jam. Bakersfield dipped to 7-34.
Utah took its first lead since very early in the game at 81-80 on a Brian Hamilton slam dunk at the 6:21 mark in the fourth quarter. The Flash would never trail again as Fesenko converted three big inside baskets in the last 2:58 and Almond scored 18 of his game-high 24 points in the second half, including three crucial free throws in the last 49 seconds to ice the game for Utah.
"That's a good way to finish off a tough stretch of six games in nine days," Flash coach Brad Jones said. "It took us a little while to get going after playing last night at home and flying to Bakersfield this morning, but the guys fought through it and made plays when we needed them."
Fesenko notched his fifth double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Gabe Pruitt, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, finished with 16 for the Flash, followed by James Lang with 15 points.
The Flash return to the McKay Events Center on Friday to host the Colorado 14ers. The Jam travel to Los Angeles on Friday.
