Skyline senior Dani Peterson was named the Gatorade Player of the Year Wednesday.

Peterson helped the Eagles to their second 5A title in three years averaging 17 points, 10 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

"Dani is long and quick," said Jordan coach Greg Cramer. "She runs the court well and she just alters the game in the pain. She has good fundamentals."

Peterson also maintains a 3.64 GPA and is involved in service projects with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Humanitarian Center.

"Dani brings to the table competitiveness, versatility, leadership ... and an amazing set of skills for a post player," said Skyline head coach Deb Bennett.

Peterson has signed a letter of intent to play for BYU next season.
