VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED

Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge is looking for volunteers for its summer tour program.

This will be the second year of offering guided refuge tours, and the refuge is looking for new recruits to help with this program.

Volunteers are needed for other duties as well, such as staffing the information desk and clerking in the bookstore, assisting with environmental education programs, special events and bird surveys, working on newsletters or helping with maintenance projects.

Those interested in learning more about the volunteer program can call 435-723-5887 weekdays and talk to Betsy Beneke, the refuge's volunteer coordinator.

Wildlife education center hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
