Snowbasin ski area to inaugurate XTerra Winter World Championship

In addition to the big race on Saturday, the U.S. National Snowshoe championship races will be Sunday morning and Friday will see amateur snowboard scramble and ski mountaineering races.

A kid zone and expo will be held each day at Snowbasin in an effort to make the weekend a family affair.

9 a.m.-3 p.m.: Winter Worlds Expo

10 a.m.: Snowboard scramble start

11:30 a.m.: Ski mountaineering races start

2 p.m.: Cut-off for ski mountaineering race

3 p.m.: Ski mountaineering awards

Saturday

9 a.m.-3p.m.: Winter Worlds Expo

10 a.m.: Winter World Championship start

2 p.m.: Winter World Championship awards

Sunday

9 a.m.: U.S. National Snowshoe Championships, junior 5K start

9 a.m.-3 p.m.: Winter Worlds Expo

10 a.m.: U.S. National Snowshoe Championships, men's 10K start

10:45 a.m.: U.S. National Snowshoe Championships, women's 10k start

Noon: Snowshoe kids 1K start

12:15 p.m.: Snowshoe citizens 5K start

1:30 p.m.: Snowshoe citizens 10K relay start
