A closer look at the Rexburg Idaho Temple

Location: 750 S. 2nd East, Rexburg, Idaho
Building size: 57,504 square feet
Building height: 168 feet 9 inches to the top of the Moroni statue (Moroni statue is 10 feet 8 inches tall)
Exterior features: Precast concrete panels with quartz-rock finish (rock was mined in Washington state, added to the concrete and sandblasted)
• 45 different molds used to create 637 panels, including retaining wall
• Exterior panels weighing 2,600 tons
• 700 art-glass windowpanes, most with depiction of wheat stalk, created by Utah artist Tom Holdman
Interior features: Original murals painted by local artist Leon Parson
• Wood trim imported from Africa
• Stone and tile imported from Israel
• Oxen for baptistry made of fiberglass
Other facts: When dedicated, this will be the church's 125th operating temple worldwide and the third in Idaho, along with those in Idaho Falls and Boise. Another temple is under construction in Twin Falls. ... The Rexburg Idaho Temple will serve Saints in communities across eastern Idaho, including Rexburg, Sugar City, St. Anthony, Ashton, Driggs and the campus of BYU-Idaho.
