GREAT DEBATE: Sports Illustrated's version of the much-publicized Deron Williams vs. Chris Paul point-guard debate is featured as a three-page story in the magazine's current issue.

Wrote SI's Jack McCallum: "A coach who observed both of them during the U.S. national team trials in Las Vegas over the last two summers — Paul participated in '06, Williams in '07 — says that Williams seems closer to stardom. On the other hand, The Wages of Wins, a stats-based website, devoted a long recent post comparing the two, concluding that Paul is the superior player."

Williams was the No. 3 overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft; Paul went one pick later to New Orleans.

MISC.: With Okur out, Jarron Collins made a second straight start at center Saturday ... The Sonics were without would-be starting center Kurt Thomas because of a sprained right ankle. Nick Collison started in his place ... Usual Jazz backup power forward Paul Millsap played 29 minutes Saturday despite a bruised right hip sustained during the final few minutes of Friday's loss to the Trail Blazers ... After missing Friday's game so that he could attend the funeral of his maternal grandfather in the Los Angeles area, Jazz backup point guard Jason Hart was back in the lineup Saturday.
