LEHI — The Alpine School District Board of Education is considering new school boundaries for the northwest part of the district.

The public can comment on the boundary proposals at the following open houses:

• Tonight at Harvest Elementary, 2105 Providence Drive, Saratoga Springs, from 7-8:30

• Wednesday at Lehi High School, 180 N. 500 East, Lehi, from 6-7:30 p.m.

• Thursday at Willowcreek Middle School, 2275 W. 300 North, Lehi, from 6-7:30 p.m.

A high school is under construction in Saratoga Springs, off Redwood Road and 400 North. The new school, which hasn't been named yet, will alleviated crowding anticipated at Lehi High School.

"Logic rules in this boundary," said Gary Seastrand, Alpine assistant superintendent.

The Jordan River provides a natural boundary in the area, with schools to the east going to Lehi and schools to the west going to the new high school in Saratoga Springs.

In 2009, when the Saratoga Springs school opens, its enrollment will be 1,034. Lehi High School's enrollment will be 1,565.
