Climber partners with Ogden park to hold fund-raiser for new venue
The event will be Dec. 5. Funds will go toward the world's only free-standing, refrigerated ice climbing tower to be built in Ogden.
Lowe will host a book reading and dinner at the David Eccles Conference Center at 5:30 p.m., followed by a slide show and movie screening at 8 p.m. at Peery's Egyptian Theatre. Lowe will read from his soon-to-be-released book, "Many Climbs."
"Through public and private support, we are going to create a year-round climbing venue in the heart of the Ogden area that will offer visitors an ice-climbing experience just as real as the ones created by Mother Nature," Lowe said.
"This notable development will be of benefit not only to Ogden and Utahns but adventure enthusiasts everywhere," he said.
The cost is $60 per plate or $600 for a table that seats 10. The ticket includes the movie screening. Cost of the movie ticket alone is $10 for students and $15 for adults.
Dinner tickets must be purchased in advance at www.ogdenclimbingparks.com. Movie tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
