Because of limited open terrain, Snowbird and the Deseret Morning News have decided to move the snowboard portion of the Deseret Morning News/KSL Ski School back a week. The skiing portion will be held at Alta on Saturday.

Snowboard students met on Nov. 17 and went over an introductory lesson. The second lesson involves actual on-hill snowboarding. But because of limited terrain, students would be unable to gain the full benefit of the second class.

Snowboarders will now meet on Dec. 8 and 15.

Saturday will be the first of three sessions for skiers at Alta. Because of the lack of snow, the first class was postponed. Skiers will meet Saturday in Alta's upper parking area for the first class at 9 a.m. The final two sessions will be Dec. 8 and 15.

Skiers are advised to dress for cold-weather conditions. The extended forecast is calling for snow on Saturday and Sunday. They should also bring all of their equipment.

This is the 60th year for the Deseret Morning News program.
