Brookstone is offering several digital display products for people wanting continually updated information about weather, sports or stocks. All receive information wirelessly and need no computer or Internet hookup. The Football SportsCaster ($99) displays schedules, standings and quarter-by-quarter scores for all NFL teams. The Baseball SportsCaster ($99) does likewise for major league teams, with schedules, standings and inning-by-inning scores. It also displays the next six games for each team. The company's WeatherCast Alarm Clock ($100) gives current conditions and a five-day forecast from AccuWeather.com. It also can automatically recognize its location anywhere in the country. Brookstone's StockCast ($85) lets a person monitor the stock markets anytime. It displays real-time data from the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P 500 at no charge and an individual stock or portfolio for a small monthly fee.

Weather trackers also might want to get a Honeywell Emergency Alert Weather Station (www.honeywellweatherstations.com) from Hideki Electronics. Three models are available, broadcasting up to 62 different warnings to alert users of potential or occurring weather hazards such as icy conditions and tornado warnings. The units also keep time and monitor temperature, humidity and other conditions. The TN924 ($349.99) offers conditions, forecasting, atomic time and up to eight wireless indoor and outdoor sensors with a range up to 300 feet. That lets a person know the temperature in, for example, a baby nursery, an in-law's apartment, the attic or garage simultaneously.

Sports coaches, birders, hunters and armchair quarterbacks are the target buyers for the Bushnell Instant Replay Binoculars ($249, www.bushnell.com). These binocs let people not only get a closer look at stuff but also capture digital photos of the view or capture an "instant replay" video loop that can be viewed on its LCD screen.

Photo mousepads have been around for a few years, but Saitek is offering a device for people who can't keep their hands off their favorite pictures. The Photo Mouse ($19.95, www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/photomouse.htm) lets users put their favorite picture inside that computer accessory. It's simple to use — just print and trim a photo using the included template and secure it inside the mouse cover — and the photo is illuminated by a small internal light when the mouse is plugged into a computer.
