He was recognized for his contributions to the training of professionals in range management and other natural resources fields as director of Tehabi, a USU program that provides students with opportunities to participate in mentored, value-added internships offered by the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and private land management organizations.

PROGRAM FOR YOUNGSTERS

The Bear River Bird Refuge is offering a new program directed at youngsters.

The early childhood program is titled, "Wetland Wings and other Wild Things," and will be offered every Wednesday at 10 a.m.

It is a program designed just for preschoolers and kindergarteners ages 3 to 6 and will highlight the wonders of wetland wildlife at the refuge.

Heading the program will be Susan Snyder. The November program will be "Celebrating Swans with Suluk."

FLY FISHING REPORT

Author Jim Demoux will be keynote speaker tonight to present a fly-fishing update on Utah waters, including some of the lesser-known fishing spots.

The meeting, sponsored by the Stone Fly Society, will be held at the Salt Lake County Fish and Game meeting house, 1177 W. Bullion (5700 South), at 7 p.m.

The public is invited.
