Bilingual helpers sought for election
The Voting Rights Act allows voters to seek assistance in reading ballots and Tony Yapias, director of Proyecto Latino de Utah, wants to make sure that assistance is available for naturalized citizens who speak Spanish.
"Latinos are becoming more politically active and want to have their voices heard and their votes counted," said Yapias.
Volunteers are needed for early voting and on election day. For more information call 577-3200.
