Pets of the week
Wilma is a friendly and fun 1-year-old flat-coated retriever mix. She's shiny and sweet, and she especially adores having her belly rubbed. She is also known for being very generous with her kisses, and she seems extra alert and easily trainable.
Wilma is friendly with other dogs, so she'd make a great companion if you have a dog at home who needs a friend. Wilma's adoption fee is $95. Please remind friends and family to check the shelters first and frequently when they're looking for a new furry friend for the family. Shelters take in an incredible number of beautiful purebred and mixed-breed dogs and cats, many of whom are already trained and socialized. If more people chose to give a second chance to a great shelter pet, far fewer would die without a home. There is an enormous difference between adopting from a shelter or rescue group versus buying from a breeder or pet store; one choice saves a life, and the other adds to the demand for more pets to be bred or shipped into Utah from puppy mills.
Please choose to reduce euthanasia by giving available homes to homeless animals. Visit cute Blues and wonderful Wilma at Salt Lake County Animal Services, 511 W. 3900 South or call 269-7499. And view pets at www.slcoanimalservices.org.
