The American Accounting Association recently presented its 2007 Innovations in Accounting Education Award to Brigham Young University's School of Accountancy.

BYU, the only school to win the award twice, was recognized specifically for its Ph.D. Prep program. BYU has no doctoral program in accounting, but the program prepares selected accounting students to enter into top-level doctoral programs. The program has placed 42 students in doctoral accounting programs in the past six years.

In 1993, the accounting program at BYU won the AAA Innovations in Accounting Education Award for its Junior Core program.
