Former President Bill Clinton will hold a rally at the University of Utah next Sunday to raise money for his wife, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The price tag for attending the rally is $50, and tickets can be purchased through the campaign's Web site, contribute.hillaryclinton.com/events/saltlake1104.html, or through the Utah Democratic Party Web site, www.utdemocrats.org.

The rally is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in the A. Ray Olpin University Union ballroom.

The former president is also holding a fund-raiser in Park City that costs a minimum of $500 to attend. For tickets to the Park City event, including the $2,300 VIP reception, call 435-649-2711 or e-mail jsi602@comcast.net.

Hillary Clinton was originally slated to visit Utah last week, but because of scheduling problems, she is not expected to campaign in the state this year. Her husband is coming instead, as what Democrats are calling a "super surrogate."

Other Democratic presidential candidates who have come to Utah during the 2008 campaign include the party's vice presidential candidate in 2004, former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, as well as Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.

Obama attracted hundreds of Utahns this summer to a last-minute rally held in a parking lot at Kimball Junction near Park City. New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and Sen. Christopher Dodd of Connecticut have spoken at state Democratic party events.
